The premier Australian Summit focused on connecting and supporting our local towns, cities and regional councils across the country, as they unlock the huge opportunities for carbon emissions reduction projects.
This Summit is part of the Cities Power Partnership, Australia’s biggest climate program for local government. Launched in July 2017 with 70 member councils and growing, the program represents over 8 million Australians and 250 towns and cities.
The Summit and Cities Power Partnership program are run by the Climate Council, one of Australia’s leading not for profit organisation formed to generate and communicate high quality independent research to inform the Australian public on climate change impacts and opportunities.
About the Summit
The two day Summit will be held on the NSW South Coast, just two hours south of Sydney and will incorporate an awards ceremony, gala dinner and trade exhibition.
It will inspire, connect, engage & deliver practical information to assist councils implement carbon emission reduction projects that contribute to the action pledges across the four areas of Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Transport & Working Together for Influence.

CPP Summit a NCOS Carbon Neutral Event
We are pleased to announce our commitment that the 2018 Summit will be an officially certified carbon neutral event under the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS), the only government recognised carbon neutral standard in Australia.The National Carbon Offset Standard for Events provides best-practice guidance on how to measure, reduce, offset and report emissions that occur as a result of an event’s activities. The CPP Summit will be only the second event certified under this scheme.
The CPP team is proud to be working with supporting partner Pangolin Associates and Kiama Council’s Pavilion venue team for the carbon emissions measurement & management, carbon offsetting and reporting to achieve the NCOS certification.
To achieve a carbon neutral summit we need a little bit of help from our attendees and partners to accurately understand the Summit’s carbon footprint, including emissions from travel to and from the Summit. We can only offset what we know about. As a result, you will see a few more requests than usual for information on our registration site. Please take the time to complete as accurately as possible.
